Philips ReAura Final Post-After 12 Weeks !!!!

Good evening my lovelies, I am here to bring you the results of my ReAura Treatments after 12 weeks!
It seems like so much longer than twelve weeks ago that I started recording my experience with the ReAura and I must admit that I've rather enjoyed it, once I'd gotten over myself in regard to the photos of my skin before I started my treatments-they still make me cringe, who in their right mind puts zoomed in photos of their face on the internet??
Only a fool.
I am that fool .........but, huge sigh of relief that the photos I have had taken today show a hugely improved fool!
Thank goodness for that, otherwise I'd be here 12 weeks later, posting a set of equally hideous photos and resigning myself to a future spent wearing a bag on my head!! Feeling proper stupid....

As it is, if my foolhardiness has helped anyone of you make a decision about the ReAura or information about what one can expect from using it, then I'm glad to have been able to provide that information :)

I have now completed 20 treatments to my face with the Philips ReAura and have before and after photos for you- at a price of nearly £800, the ReAura is a big investment to make in a skincare product. This is one skincare product however, that for me, has worked.

Philips ReAura Ten Weeks Update

Hi all, firstly may I apologise for my absence online for the past two weeks, I have had a few personal crises to deal with, which have massively gotten in the way of Everything Else!!
Anyhoo, I am back to update on my ReAura usage, a little bashed from some of lifes surprises but hey ho!

Now, here's the thing, When I first came across the Philips ReAura and read about it and its benefits etc. I saw on the Philips ReAura website that the results photographs posted by Philips were after 12 weeks of home use by 64 users, also the results photos in my ReAura instruction manual are also after 12 weeks so I assumed that the treatment plan for one area was 12 weeks.......
This information was my assumption when I started to write this blog, however I was wrong in this as each treatment plan for each area is in fact 8 WEEKS at two treatments per week.
I called the ReAura support team ( who are ever so helpful and friendly) and they confirmed to me that Philips recommend that the ReAura be used for 8 weeks at 2 treatments per week,per area (ie face,neck, decollete, hands or arms) You can then have a break from the ReAura for a week or two, to give the skin a rest, before resuming with treatments.
You can resume to another 8 weeks schedule at two treatments per week or one treatment per week, or top up as you feel necessary......Just as long as you don't use the ReAura any more than twice a week on any one area and you do give your skin a break.

So, I completed 8 weeks of treatments to my face and have had a 2 week break. I have started treating my neck in that two weeks.
On tuesday of this week (31st Jan 2012) I resumed treating my face and will be posting my final after pictures at the end of next week. I began this blog saying that I would post my results pictures after 12 weeks and am going to stick to that.
I am actually really pleased that I can use the ReAura on my face so regularly as I feel that it will be marvellous at preventing signs of aging re-appearing as well as all the repairing benefits it has already given me.
I missed using it during my break and did find that my t-zone got slightly greasy again after the first week of non-use!
Anyhoo, I thought I'd share another set of before and after pictures taken 6 weeks apart, as you may have already read in my previous posts, I went a bit bonkers (to put it mildly) at week 6 of my ReAura treatments and took a silly amount of photos (well, asked my husband to take them) and studied them intensely- obsessive or what!?!
These are of my forehead, frown lines and 'elevens' lines. I think the noticable changes after 6 weeks is again in my skin tone, its not as shiny and discoloured, I also think that the smaller or my 'elevens' lines (the ones between my brow) has gotten a bit smaller. Again, I've done my best with my limited camera to show the difference. Before

ReAura Skin Update after 8 weeks

Hi again its sunday,a chilling out lazy sunday and I just wanted to add a few bits of info on about my ReAura treatments and the effects on my skin.I have also taken one photo today (after 8 weeks of use)of my lip lines and zoomed it in to pop on here.
My lip lines were REALLY bad after years of smoking but, there has been a change in them which I will try to show here.
Its actually not that easy to get photos that show as much difference as I see as I only have a 14MP digital camera,a run of the mill quick capture one-nothing fancy,but I've done my best.
Before I put those pics (before/after) on I will just run through a few bits of info that someone may find useful that I've found since beginning my ReAura treatments.

Firstly,since I can remember, since my teens, I have always woken up in the morning with a greasy shiny nose and forehead,regardless of what I've been using on my skin, how long I've slept for, what was going on in my life...basically ALWAYS the same thing, greasy,oily T-Zone every single day.You know,where if you wipe your finger down the side of your nose you can feel the grease....?
Since the very first ReAura treatment I have NOT had this! My skin is the same on my T-Zone as it is on my cheeks-Dry.
Not dry in the sense that it is flaky or anything, dry as in Normal and not greasy or shiny and no grease or oil when I touch it!
Its been a bit weird to be honest, because i've always had it, to not have it any more.
Weird in a good way though :) as my skin is obviously not over-producing oil as I sleep (or during the day) so my pores are not constantly blocked.
Which leads me on to my next bit of info, which is the one, out of all of the benefits of the ReAura so far is the one thats made me happiest.
About 5 years ago I started to get bumps under my skin on both cheeks, blocked pores, all over my cheeks but mainly condensed on my upper cheek bones. They looked horrible, my face looked lumpy and bumpy and I was told by two beauticians that some were milia.
I have constantly battled with these lumps and used a host of exfoliators,cleansers and steamers as well as the Oil Cleansing Method and of course some squeezing (not good I know) and nothing has shifted them.
Last year I developed another big patch nearer to my nose on my left cheek.These blighters really got me down, my face always looked uneven and my skin (in my head) looked ugly, covered with make-up it looked worse in some ways.
I honestly despaired of ever getting rid of them, hormonal changes had a lot to blame too and my mother had them throughout her forties.
But, again since using the ReAura these bumps have nearly all gone, running my fingertips lightly over my face I can only feel a few, that's gone from my cheeks being completely covered to next to nothing.
I am so happy about this,I can't tell you how over the moon I am.
It is my understanding that the ReAura is causing the skin to renew at a faster rate, like it did when I was younger, so the dead skin cells that we all have are being shifted at a faster rate, not giving them time to clog up my pores and cause lumps and bumps,please correct me if I'm wrong on that.
Just one more thing, I was asked by someone who has been following my progress here, if I waxed my upper lip and eyebrows as she was aware of some people having had bad experiences of people having had fraxel treatment having skin torn as a result of then waxing.
I do wax usually, but, I would NO WAY want to wax my face whilst using the ReAura, as while my skin isn't sore or delicate, it does feel very 'new' and soft. I wouldn't want to use anything harsh on my skin at all right now in fact.
The lady who emailed me suggested that threading would possibly be better, I agree, but I had already used a hair removal cream (Boots Own) for my upper lip and have plucked my stray eyebrows.All without consequence.
I thought this info was helpful, so thank you S for emailing it to me.

ReAura Six Week Results-Part Three

Hi All,
I am now in my Eighth week of my Philips ReAura treatments and I can't begin to describe how happy i am with my skin!! As you have seen in my last two posts,my skintone has dramatically changed for the better and it keeps on getting better with every treatment!
My skin looks plumper now than it has looked in years (I actually can't remember my skin being this good-I know it was once,but,can't quite put my finger on what age i was then,it was that long ago)-Does anyone else ever feel like this...or is it just me?-Anyhoo, I digress-I'm here today as I have had a couple of requests for photos of my around the mouth area and queries of any changes due to the ReAura treatments.
Now,on 3rd Jan 2012 I took several photos of my face as I had completed six weeks treatments,then I'm ashamed to say and You will laugh,I went bonkers and took photos (well got my weary husband to do them) on the 5th Jan,7th Jan AND 8th Jan!!!!!
I became completely obsessed for a few days zooming in and out of photos of my ugly mug in every position possible and every light possible bar ultraviolet ;) to note every detail of change that I possibly could-I went mad!! Not for the first time obviously, I've always teetered on the insanely neurotic!!
I believe i did this because I refused to believe my own eyes with the pics taken on 3rd Jan and was convinced that I couldn't be right,so subjected myself to a full on photographic inquisition.
Not normal I know and seemingly extremely vain,which can't be a good characteristic to admit to!?!
I'm ashamed...........
But,what that did provide me with was more photos to show You, which might redeem my vanity a tiny bit as I am going to share the pics of my mouth area after six weeks....Hurray more photos of me without make-up.....Great. ( Please feel the heavy sarcasm and huge sigh of resignation due to the fact I know that I started this 'great experiment' and I can blame nobody but myself for my foolishness)

Now,Please bear in mind that these pics were taken after 12 & 13 treatments OR 6 weeks,which is effectively half way through the 12 week treatment plan that I am doing.

As Philips state Here that independent dermatologists recorded that the ReAura used by 64 home users found that:-

81% reported-Reduction in fine lines

83%-Evens skin tone

86%-Smooths skin texture

So,I'm going to wait the full 12 weeks before taking the final results pictures.As the results shown on the Philips website show results after 12 weeks-I will do the same thing.
But, I will say that my skin looks and feels fantastic and I'm hoping for even more change (thinking there already has been more change but daren't take more pics yet!!!)-Its incredible how quickly I've seen and felt a difference actually.

Its a shame that I can't post zoomed in photos of particular wrinkles or marks,but they probably wouldn't make much sense to anyone but me......hmmmmmmmm.......I hope that this has been of use to you today,I must away now and make Broccoli & Stilton soup for my long suffering hubby

Philips ReAura Results After Six Weeks-Part Two

Good evening and thank you so much to all of you who have contacted me today to let me know that you are following this blog about my use of the Philips ReAura and its effects.
I have been deeply heartened that there are so many of you that are finding it of interest and that you would like to see more pictures-So,I have another photo for you of my results after just six weeks of use (or 12 treatments) to my face.Again the new photo was taken yesterday morning,in broad daylight by a frighteningly close to my face camera!!! My husband is a star ;-). Again it was taken without make-up and at as similar an angle as possible to the 'Before' photo which was taken on 21/11/11. (I must be stark raving bonkers to do this!!!)

First photo is the before photo of my awful left cheek,worst part of my face for discolouration,note the patch of discolouration which I have circled (badly I admit,but trying to show you) and also note the circled jowl around my mouth-Very Unpleasant and I apologise if you have just eaten!

Okay,I now present to you my new left cheek.....tadadadadatataaaaa...........

Its AMAZING!!! It doesn't even look like the same cheek!! And it is,its my cheek and its a squillion times better!!!!! My jowly thing is nowhere near as jowly....Don't you think? And my skintone is completely different,the discolouration has diminished dramatically and the lines have reduced!!!!! I am quite blown away by the changes and its only been six weeks-Given that the starting block that was my skin before-I think the difference is dramatic-What do you think? Am I exaggerating this here and fooling myself?!?
I'm now off to do my thirteenth treatment of the ReAura,I hope I have been of use.

Philips ReAura Results After Six Weeks

Hi All, Happy New Year to you all!!
I'm here to update you on my ReAura progress after having completed six weeks worth of treatments ie 12 and I have some photographs of how my skin is doing and I have to say that its VERY EXCITING!!!!

Without further ado I have a picture of the left side of my forehead....here is the before picture (note the large age spot,the large scar and the dreadful discolouration).Taken 21/11/2011

Okay Drum Roll Please,here is the same area taken today 02/01/2012 in daylight,in front of a window,in as similar circumstances as possible to the photo above and of course without make-up.....

WOOHOOOOO!! I can't believe it,honestly in only six weeks,look at the difference in my skin!!! It is flippin' amazing....The age spot has nearly disappeared,the discolouration has faded dramatically and can you see the scar??? It is just about visible,but only if you look really hard.The lines to the corner of my eye are definitely not as pronounced and my skin tone is a million times better,its now fresher and i think is glowing,its certainly not shiny and unhealthy looking as before!!
WoooooHoooooooo again!!!
My skin also feels fabulous,softer and smoother than it has done in years!!
I have more photos taken today,really because I wanted to see what differences were really taking place by comparing some from today from the ones taken in November....If you would like to see another comparison picture please post a comment under this post as I'm still not receiving much feedback from my little experiment and would appreciate knowing if anyone is finding this useful???

Philips ReAura Week Four

Hi Guys,
Firstly may I apologise for the lack of updates since my video,I have had the most horrible flu bug and have been shattered.I have however,still been keeping up with my ReAura Treatment....which felt like madness when my head felt like it was full of cotton wool and a heavy rock band all at the same time!!
Secondly,May I thank those lovely ladies who have contacted me regarding my ReAura updates,I am just so pleased that they are of use to you and that this little venture is proving to be worthwhile.
Right,now the important stuff.....after making my YouTube video I decided that it was time to move up to Level 3 on the ReAura,which is the highest level of treatment.I was dealing with Level 2 without any problems at all,so definitely felt ready to go up a notch.
So,on my fifth treatment ( remember,the ReAura is to be used twice a week for 12 weeks on the area needing treatment) so my fifth treatment was in my 3rd week,I popped the ReAura onto Level 3.

The laser is obviously stronger on Level 3,so is hotter and tinglier (is tinglier a word??-I'm gonna use it anyway :-)! ) and using the ReAura felt like when I used it the first time on Level 2.Some areas of my face,especially my upper lip was a tiny bit painful with the first set of strokes,but as before got easier to bear as treatment progressed.After treatment,My face stayed red & Hot for around 3 hours-again,similar to when I first started using the ReAura.
The following day,I had a definite red patch over one of my (deeply etched) laughter lines and another huge spot developed near my nose.....I had one on my head come up at the beginning of my treatment too!!
The red patch faded within 48 hours and the spot within 72 and I have had no more problems as I have completed treatment 6,7 & 8.
Again,the more you use ReAura,the easier it becomes.
I have noticed that my skin is drier on Level 3 than Level 2,but not flaky dry.
But,the best bit of news I have is that my husband has noticed a change in me!!
He said to me today,after I mentioned that I must update my blog about the ReAura.......wait for it......He said ' Do you know,I think that laser thing your'e doing must be working'-I said 'Really why?' and this is the important bit,for my old man is as myopic as most men when it comes to these things.....He said ' Well,I've noticed it a couple of times and I haven't been able to put my finger on it,but,You look different'.
Okay,I had to push him on this great statement,so asked 'Different? How?' and his reply was
' You look sort of smoother,like your skin has been lifted,the sagginess has gone'!!!

Woohooooooo!I look LIFTED my skins been LIFTED....hold on,did he say Sagginess?!?........
I don't care!!! LIFTED and SMOOTHER-I was and still am on cloud nine!!!

I feel that my skin looks better,it feels smoother and my open pores are not noticeable around my nose,I think that my skin looks brighter and I can definitely state that I will never have to buy a skin serum again,as my skin looks better after four weeks with the ReAura than it has done in years with use of many different skin serums and creams.......I look LIFTED! Ha!

Philips ReAura YouTube Video Review

Hi guys,This evening I have completed my fourth ReAura Treatment and videoed myself whilst doing it!!!
I have uploaded the video to YouTube HERE and am feeling a little nervous about it.
I have not done a video review of any description before so its a little bit amateur (to say the least!) and I have appeared on the worldwide web with NO MAKE-UP ON!!!! This is either very brave or very stupid of me........I hope I get some feedback on that as I'm not sure if anybody is benefiting from My ReAura witterings or not?? Philips ReAura Review Continued-2nd & 3rd Treatments

Hi all,I completed my 2nd ReAura treatment last friday (25th Nov) and My 3rd yesterday (29th Nov) and am back to update on my progress.
Firstly,I found the 2nd treatment was a little more painful and stung more than the first,not to the point where it was too much to bear or anything dramatic like that,but it was a bit more difficult.Also my skin stayed hot and red for at least three hours afterwards and I applied the ReAura Laser Aftercare Complex three times during the course of the evening as my skin seemed to just suck it in! By morning,all redness had disappeared and my face felt fine again.A day after the treatment a huge spot appeared above my left eyebrow-I don't often get spots,but don't know if it was down to the laser treatment or not.
I popped out to Boots and invested in a tube of Avene Eau Thermale Soothing Moisture Mask and Avene Eau Thermale Thermal Water Spray.I used the mask that evening to give my face a good dose of moisturisation.
My third treatment yesterday,was really easy and far less uncomfortable than either of the previous two,it also only took 18 minutes to complete-so practice is making perfect! Again,my skin was hot and red for only an hour and I used two doses of Aftercare Complex.
I used the Thermal Water Spray directly after after my treatment and it really cooled my skin down quickly,It comes in an aerosol can and sprays a fine cool mist of water onto the skin.I used it again 20 minutes later and do think that it helped to calm the redness down a lot.
This morning I woke up to a red patch on my 'smile line' and a smaller one on my chin.They are neither sore nor dry and do not sting at all-just a bit red and angry looking,even covered with make-up.

My skin in general since starting the ReAura treatment feels constantly dry and papery to the touch,but it doesn't look dry.It feels a little tight,but not horrendously so and my oily t-zone has not been oily or shiny at all-Which is a BIG bonus and something that I have never experienced before.
Apparently,the dryness is all part of the skin rejuvenation process of the laser,so I am not unduly worried about it but will avoid any harsh skincare treatments while I'm using the ReAura.
My regular skincare regime consists of Clarins Gentle Foaming Cleanser for Combi Skin,Clarins Combi/Oily Skin Toner and Clarins Hydraquench Day Cream with SPF15. I have been able to continue to use these products without any problems as they are gentle on the skin and I have also exfoliated with Boots No7 Radiance Revealed Exfoliator,again without issue.The only skincare treatment that I have changed has been my night time moisturiser so I am using the ReAura Aftercare Complex for a deeper moisturisation.
I would also definitely advise to use a day cream with a SPF of 15 or above for extra protection.

Have I started to see any difference to my face other than a non oily t-zone??
Well....Yes. The large open pores around my nose,on my cheeks are much smaller and tighter,so are the ones on my chin.Although on the bridge of my nose,where I can't quite master the ReAura they are still enlarged.
The broken capillaries right next to my nose on either side have faded and there is less of them and the big dot of a broken capillary on my right cheek has faded too-YAY!
I think that my skin looks brighter,smoother and healthier-despite the dry feeling.
The proof of any change will of course be in my 'after' photos in 11 weeks time,We will see.

My First ReAura Treatment

Today I have completed my first treatment session with the Philips ReAura Laser system and thought it would be a good idea to let you know how I have gotten on.
I first cleansed my face with The Body Shops Cucumber Water as a mild cleanser is recommended by Philips and settled myself in front of my bedroom mirror with the ReAura,the laser performance gel and my instruction manual just in case.....
I then applied one pea sized dose of laser performance gel to each zone of my face.
Each treatment area that ReAura can be used on,Face, Hands, Arms, Neck and Decolletage are divided up into zones which the ReAura then treats with the exact amount of Fraxel laser therapy needed,when one zone has been completed the ReAura makes a ringing sound and goes into standby mode so you know to start the next zone.
The face is divided into three zones,the left cheek,the right cheek and the forehead-the cheek zones include half of the chin each and half of the area above the lip each.
The laser performance gel is thicker than I'd expected and goes onto the skin easily and the three pea sized blobs are the right amount.
I switched the ReAura on,popped on the tip which is necessary for treatment and selected setting 2 on the intensity button.
The ReAura has three intensity settings 1 which is for practice only and does not deliver any results,2 and 3 are the levels to use for treatment.
I started the treatment on the right cheek zone.When you place the ReAura tip onto the skin and you have good contact the tip lights up Red,the Red goes off if contact is incorrect.Then you move the ReAura along the skin in either horizontal or vertical strokes.The ReAura lights up Green along the sides when its being moved at the correct speed and makes a humming sound-The sound stops and lights go off if contact is interrupted.
I found the ReAura easy to move along the skin both vertically and horizontally except for on the nose and near the nostrils,I definitely need practice there.
When the laser is working on the skin it feels like two hot prickles moving down the skin,its slightly uncomfortable and hot but not unbearable or un-doable,the prickly pain eases as you go over the area which has already done,in a checkerboard pattern and its not an unpleasant feeling at all,just warm.You musn't concentrate on one area,you need to treat the whole area evenly in order to make the best of the treatments.
I was really surprised as I'd built it up that it was going to really burn and it really didn't!!
When the 'zone-completed' sound went off I was amazed at how quickly it had gone,my right cheek zone was bright red and I felt a bit stingy but moved on to the left cheek zone,that was exactly the same experience as the right.
I found my forehead the most tricky to treat as its difficult to maintain skin contact with the laser due to the forehead being bony,so I will need more practice with this area and it took slightly longer to complete the zone.
After 30 minutes my treatment was complete and my face was very red and a bit stingy.The feeling I can liken it to best is a 'Sauna Face Mask' those face masks that heat as they go onto your skin,they always feel too hot on my face........except this feeling lasts longer.Or sunburn.

As you can see I look a bit like a lobster.....
I then rinsed off the laser performance gel with cold water,splashing my face was a delight and actually really helped with the heat,then applied a generous dollop of the Aftercare complex which has the texture of a very good thick serum,my skin drank this within an hour but after an hour the heat had diminished completely and I was just slightly glowy pink.After three hours I have no redness,pinkness or prickling at all,my skin does feel a bit tight but also very soft and smooth.
The redness and prickling are only to be expected with this sort of laser treatment and are by no means terrible or unbearable,they also mean that the treatment is being done effectively.Given that my redness only lasted an hour I don't think that is terrible at all and am quite impressed by the simplicity of the whole procedure.I should start seeing some results in four to five weeks which is SO EXCITING!!

Philips ReAura Kit-Contents Of The Box

Today I started my ReAura treatment,which I will post about after telling you what I received in the ReAura box.

The ReAura Laser System comes in a smart zip around padded and waterproof case,with a tie pouch that contains the ReAura Tip,a cleaning cloth,The charger and a little cleaning brush.

Also included is a 60g tube of Laser Performance Gel and a 60g Pump Dispenser of Laser aftercare complex-both of these state 'Developed with the makers of Fraxel technology'.

So,yesterday,the first thing I did was read the instruction manual from cover to cover and admit that I thought 'Oh blimey,this is a bit complicated'
It isn't complicated,I'm just a bit of a Nervous Nerys and I was just worried that I wasn't going to be able to do 'IT' properly......The points I was unsure of were what speed to do the strokes at and how would I know that I had the Laser on my skin correctly.
So,I popped the DVD on....Truthfully,I wasn't going to watch the DVD,I'm a bit of a one that goes straight into things usually and learn by default but,I am so glad that I did watch it as there is a section where a lady demonstrates the product through its entirety,using it on her face as she goes so I saw for myself what speed she was using and how the contact lights come on when the laser is in contact with the skin and also heard the noises the Laser makes when one is using it and when a treatment zone session is finished.
A very useful DVD indeed.

Yeayyys,today I took delivery of my Philips ReAura and I'm so excited that I'm barely able to contain myself!!
Sad? Maybe.....Do I care? NO!
I have decided in my infinite wisdom (bull headed stupidity) to do a warts and all review of this product using this very new blog as a platform,which will involve me firstly posting photographs of my skin and ALL of its imperfections in its full unmade-up glory!
Stand by people.....This will NOT be pretty and I'm a bit nervous about doing so because my skin is really awful.
I am 41 years old and have never had any kind of cosmetic procedure done ever-So my skin is as natural as it can be and time has not been kind.
I do spend time and money trying to take care of my skin,trying different products from every price range to help support my skin and delay the ageing process,but,whilst I believe that some serums and creams can help with pigmentation and skintone,I have not yet come across anything that has alleviated the wrinkles and fine lines of which I have an abundance!
I am an ex-smoker and in my twenties I enjoyed a sunbed way too often so the damage is plain to see and although it can be mildly covered up by make-up,also after having had a full hysterectomy earlier this year I'm on a slippery slope,well my face is half way down the slope already....
I haven't as yet found any reviews from anyone using the ReAura who is a similar age to myself,only from younger women who have different skin concerns from me,so I hope that by writing about my experience with the ReAura I might be able to help someone else and if nothing else you can thank your lucky stars that your skin isn't as bad as mine :)

I'm going to try and be as informative as I can through 12 weeks of treatment to my face-Yes,Yes I know I need it!

A Very exciting new product released in September 2011 is the Philips ReAura Laser Skin Rejuvenation System.

Okay,So last week I decided to take the plunge and make a little order from E.L.F Cosmetics or eyeslipsface.co.uk as their website is known.
I have been dallying around in ordering from them as I had never used their products before and they are Incredibly cheap,so,I questioned the quality.I also didn't really want to place an order for one item to 'try' and pay the £2.95 delivery charge for a £1.50 cosmetic item-Yes, £1.50 is cheap isn't it??
Anyhoo,having joined their Facebook page and looked around the site several times,I received an email with an offer code to spend £10.00 and get free delivery AND a mystery box.....Well,what more incentive than a mystery box??
A mystery box could be anything,it could even be a boat! (Family Guy Reference).
I couldn't resist the calling of a mystery box,so went ahead and ordered 1 x eyelid primer (£1.50)-1 x Slant Tweezers (that I needed,honestly! £1.50)-1 x Healthy Glow Bronzing Powder (£1.50)-1 x lip brush (£1.50)-1 x Luscious Liquid Lipstick (£1.50)-1x Plumping Lip Glaze ( £1.50) and 1 x Professional Shine Eraser (£1.50).
Unbelievable,All of that for £10.50 delivered with a Mystery Box-Too good to be true!!
Three days later I took delivery of my 'prize' and was very pleasantly surprised to say the least.My Mystery box contained 4 free items,a glittery nail polish,a cream blusher,an eye shimmer pencil,with its own little sharpener and a Chubby lipstick pencil in praline.
However,I will only actually use one of the items as the other bits are not really my thing/colours But are ideal for my twenty year old daughter-so a win win situation there!
Of the products that I paid for,I have used the tweezers and they are great! I can't believe the quality of both these and the lip brush for only £1.50 each,they are well made,quality items.

I have used the Praline Chubby Lip pencil and I really like it,it gives a matt colour to the lips which lasts a long time and is totally non-greasy.

I have used the Luscious Liquid Lipstick which I bought in Strawberry,it smells slightly strawberryish but not in a sickly sweet way.It is in a clear tube with a sponge applicator,you twist the bottom once or twice to push the lipstick onto the applicator and then apply.

The first time I twisted and twisted for about ten times before anything appeared,but it has been fine since.The colour given is a light shiny pink which leaves the lips glossy and healthy looking-Another thumbs up for this product.

I have used the Healthy Glow Bronzing Powder which I bought in Luminance and frankly wished I hadn't,Not because there is anything wrong with the product,it is another good quality item,but,applied over my foundation,it is SO shimmery that I looked like I'd been apple bobbing in glitter! I had to rush out too so felt that I looked mid-hot-flush all blinkin day!! The pic shows one finger swipe across my hand.
Totally wrong for me,I have too many wrinkles to highlight them with fairy dust :-).I need to use matt products these days. So daughter will get this one too.

Finally,My favourite of the bunch-The Eyelid Primer in Sheer. I absolutley love this product,it is a light matt liquid that goes onto the eyelid with a sponge applicator,I find that I use a finger tip to smooth it in.It dries really quickly giving a slightly creamy matt tone to the eyelid.
You then apply eyeshadow over the top and it helps to keep the shadow in place without creasing and it works beautifully.I use a darker shade on the eye socket area and often find that it 'moves' as the day goes on....Not anymore,it stays right where I put it when I use this and I have worn it alone as suggested. Love this and will definitely buy it again!!
So,all in all,I am very glad that I dipped my toe into E.L.F. as I will definitely be going back for more.

Night Recovery Cream. A regenerative night cream formulated to deliver hydration and enhance cellular renewal.Non-comodemic.
Another really impressive product,somewhat richer than the day cream as to be expected,leaves the skin feeling really soft and hydrated.Again,theres no need to overload the skin and a little goes a long way.

Montagne Jeunesse Face Masks

We must all know of Montagne Jeunesse face masks,they are so easy to find in shops and supermarkets everywhere.I particularly like them as they come in one use sachets and are great value for money.
They come in several different varieties and for all different skin types.I prefer the fabric face masks but am not adverse to the creamy ones or the peel offs.
Tonight I tried the Dead sea salt and seaweed fabric mask.It is a cleansing spa mask for soothing stressed out skin.

OMG its halloween!

The fabric masks are soaked in product and folded into the sachet so are really easy to apply,you just cleanse your skin,pat it dry and pop the face mask on....Then sit back and relax for 5 minutes.....looking rather scary i may add.
The dead sea salt mask felt very refreshing on my skin and smells really fresh,the skin tingles slightly under the mask and feels really clean after use.My skin was glowing.
I think this mask would be great for oily skin.
Remember to splash your face with cold water to close your pores after using a face mask and to use a moisturiser after a deep cleansing one like this.

Lancome Visionnaire

Lancome brought out their new anti-ageing serum Visionnaire in September 2011 and I bought it straight away,with promises that my wrinkles would be reduced,pores minimized and a more even skintone,it seemed like a no-lose situation.
It is marketed as causing *half of the women who had used it had chosen to delay fillers,lasers and peels* as it is so good.
Well,I have used it for a month now and whilst it is packaged beautifully in a silver box containing an aqua blue glass pump bottle,the product itself is somewhat lacking.

One pump is enough to cover the face and the serum is a white pearlescent colour.
It goes onto the skin easily,but feels sticky on the skin for quite some time,so is not good to use under make-up.
I have not noticed any change to my skin during the time that I have used it,but it has fairly good reviews elsewhere.So if you are considering trying Visionnaire i would suggest getting a sample from your local Lancome counter first and using for about a week before taking the plunge.
The serum costs around £57.00 for 30ml in the UK.

I've decided to write this blog as I've recently turned 40 and like to remain well groomed and up to date with cosmetics and skincare.

I am focusing more on products and styles for those of us who perhaps feel a little left out in the world of beauty.

As we age our skin changes and what may have suited our skin in our twenties may be completely unsuitable in our forties.

Of course,I battle with my wrinkles,my eye-bags and a hormonal uneven skin tone,but believe that as long as I care for my skin using products (cheap or expensive) that work for me,I can maintain confidence in my appearance and will march forth SPF moisturiser in hand!

Dr Hauschka skin care is a leading Natural skincare brand specialising in organic skincare products.
It has been running for over 40 years and has won many awards for their expertise.Including awards from The Sunday Times,Instyle Magazine and The Green Beauty Bible amongst others.

I was incredibly lucky recently to have won an Eyeshadow Pallette from Dr Hauschkas' Autumn 2011 range.It is pallette 03 and can be seen by clicking here.
The pallette arrived at my house beautifully parcelled in tissue with a red ribbon and i was thrilled when I opened it up.
The colours which are lily white,icy blue greys and a deep earth brown are absolutlely perfect for the autumn/winter and ideal for my age.
The pallette also contains a shadow applicator and a mirror in the lid.

The packaging is gorgeously glossy.The shadows are free from synthetic preservatives and scents and can be used on all skin types.
This also means that they are perfect for sensitive skins.
The shadows go onto the eyelid easily and blend well.
It is simple to build up the colours and i found the white is a great base to blend the other colours through.The make-up is also weightless when worn.
My eyelids look great,fabulous matt colours, this is a fantastic buy for anyone!

Max Factor Ageless Elixir 2 in 1

Ageless Elixir 2in1 foundation + serum is Max Factors latest foundation.It contains a serum with an SPF factor of 15 and claims to give a flawless finish today and to care for the skin for tomorrow.
It is a very silky smooth foundation and does give very good coverage,fine lines are well evened out.
I have found that I shouldn't use a moisturiser underneath this though as I tend to get a very shiny t-zone.I think the serum in the product is moisturising enough.
The foundation comes in 6 shades which you can see at Max Factor and I use Light Ivory 40.
It is quite strongly fragranced,which might not suit everyone.

The fact that it contains an SPF is marvellous as this is a very important factor in protecting our skin.I really like this foundation,it ticks all of my boxes and does a fantastic job of keeping my skin soft and providing the coverage I want.

No7 Radiance Boosting Hot Cloth Cleanser 200ml

A rich creamy cleanser which comes in a pump action bottle,this cleanser from Boots No7 is described as having the luxury of a spa facial in your own home.
A muslin cloth is included in the box,to polish off the cleanser.The plastic bottle is large and easy to manage,the cleanser is thick and creamy and I use one and a half pumps for each cleanse.I run hot water into the sink and soak my muslin cloth in it. I apply the cleanser directly to my face,without water as instructed and massage in with circular motion.The cleanser spreads easily,has a light fragrance and is creamy rather than sticky.

I then rinse the muslin cloth and place it over my face and sit for a few minutes while the heat lifts the days' make-up and grime from my face,I then use the muslin cloth to polish off the cleanser and wipe away all the muck.My face is then rinsed with clean water and splashed with cold to close my pores.
This is a great product from No7,i am not always that impressed by their products as they can be a bit pricey in comparison to some other products on the shelves,but this one is lovely,lasts a long time and makes my skin feel incredibly clean and soft at the same time.
I only cleanse with this three times a week as it is exfoliating when used with the muslin cloth and exfoliating too often is too harsh for most skins as it can strip the skin of its protective barrier and force the skin to over produce sebum in turn causing blocked pores and pimples.
The cleanser is priced at £9.00 for 200mls at Boots so is a very reasonable price for a luxurious product.

Here I am reviewing Prevage Face Serum.

This product is right up at the high end of the market price-wise but,having used it for four months,I can honestly state that it is worth every penny.

The Prevage range contains the ingredient Idebenone which is claimed to be the most powerful antioxidant available worldwide.I researched this product thoroughly before I decided to invest in it.

The product claims to reduce fine lines and wrinkles,minimize age spots,sun damage and redness and give a radiance to the skin.In effect fight the signs of environmental damages such as sun damage and smoking.

The product is pricey but its reviews are amazing,so at £100.00 for 30ml...at Boots,is it really worth it?

My Birthday Present :)

It is advised by Elizabeth Arden to try Prevage on the inside of the arm as a tester for three days before commencing with facial care,in case of allergy.So I went along and asked for a tester at my Boots E.Arden counter,the assistant was helpful and friendly.I would advise to do this before buying.I have not had any allergic reaction to the serum.

Well,I received this product as a collaborative birthday present and used it for four months.It comes in fabulous luxurious packaging,a silver pump bottle encased in a metal surround.I used one pump a day which covered my entire face.

Just one pump covers the face.

The serum itself is a bright orange colour,which is the colour of the Idebenone and it has a light fluid texture.It has a pleasant fragrance and sinks easily into the skin and make-up can be easily applied on top of it.

I decided to use the serum at night after cleansing & toning and under my night cream.After 4 weeks I could really see a difference in my skintone,it was definately more even and i looked healthier,the slightly pallid tint to my skin had gone and my skin was smoother.Other people commented that 'I looked well' etc.

Over the four months I can quite honestly say that this serum made a dramatic difference to my skintone and the circles under my eyes have lightened significantly.I don't feel that my fine lines/wrinkles have changed,but i look altogether healthier/better than I did before I used it.

This product is one of the best that I have ever used and I will certainly be asking for some for Christmas!

I won a prize today on Dr Nick Lowe's Facebook page! I am so pleased to have won an Anti-Ageing skincare kit.They had ten kits to give away,5 x Anti-Ageing and 5x Anti-Blemish.
They are very friendly and helpful on Facebook and offer skincare advice and information on Dr Lowe's products.
I have not yet tried any of these products,but have often noticed them at Boots and on Boots.com.The reviews there are fairly positive.They describe the products as the most affordable Dr brand on the market.
